How can noting the date of each service on a small sticker help with future maintenance?

After a while, all services blur together in memory. Was the AC cleaned this year or last? When did we last service the boiler or water purifier? Instead of guessing, a tiny sticker or label near the appliance with the date of the last service gives you a clear reminder.

You might write, “AC serviced – April 2025. Next due – March 2026,” or something similar. Anyone in the house can see it at a glance – no hunting through messages or invoices.

This helps you keep a regular rhythm. Systems that are serviced on time work better, break down less often, and last longer. It also prevents over-servicing, where you pay multiple times because you forgot you recently did the same work.

It’s a very low-tech solution to a very common confusion, and it keeps your home running more like a well-managed small business than a place of guesswork.
