Why is it useful to note down the exact paint brand and code in your phone?

Paint fades a little over time, and memory fades a lot. A year after painting, you may remember that the wall is “some sort of beige from X company,” but that’s not enough to get an exact match for touch-ups or new areas.

If you store the exact brand, line, colour name and code – maybe even a photo of the can label – in your phone’s notes or a dedicated album, you always have it handy. When you need to repaint a patch, add new shelves, or match woodwork, you can buy the right product without guessing.

It’s especially helpful if you used different whites or neutrals in different rooms. They may look similar at first, but one tiny mismatch stands out once dry.

A few seconds of recording the info when you paint saves you a lot of detective work later.
